Beliefs
The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal future return to the earth in power and glory.
In the blessed hopethe rapture of the church at Christ's coming.
Humanity is restored to right relationship with God through personal faith in the person and work of Christ and granted spiritual birth by the working of the Holy Spirit. Both are essential for the forgiveness of sin and for new life in Christ.
The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayers.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience available to all believers following Salvation.
In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
In the resurrection of both the saved and lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.
Jesus commanded all believers to participate in water baptism and communion.
Who we are
Philadelphia Church is a Pentecostal, Evangelical Fellowship committed to loving, reaching and serving.
Our goal
Every person a lighthouse for Christ.
Our mission
To worship God in spirit and truth.
To reach those who have not received Jesus both at home and abroad.
To disciple and equip Christian believers through the Bible, Gods Word, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit to impact their world.
Our purpose
To present ourselves to the Lord in Spirit-enabled worship and Spirit-filled living.
To boldly and effectively communicate the good news of Jesus Christ to every person, in every lifestyle, culture, and nation within our reach, as the Lord would lead.
To equip believers for effective life and ministry through the teaching of the Word of God which is our final authority, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
To emphasize and practice prayer and intercession so that we may enter into all of Gods fullness and promise.
To encourage and pursue an atmosphere of Christian love and concern that embraces people and their needs.
Worship Statement
Worship is a lifestyle of honoring the Lord that starts from the heart and manifests itself by how we live our lives. Romans 12:1 says offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your act of spiritual worship.
We believe the Holy Bible teaches us how to worship. Some of these expressions include:
Reading His Word
Psalm 119:7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
Prayer & Fasting
Acts 14:23 with prayer and fasting
The Lords Supper
1 Corinthians 11:26 do this in remembrance of me
Praise & Thanksgiving
Psalm 147:7 Praise the Lord sing to the Lord with thanksgiving.
Shouting & Playing Music
Psalm 33:3 Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
Giving
2 Corinthians 9:7 God loves a cheerful giver.
Lifting Hands
Psalm 63:4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
Clapping Hands
Psalm 47:1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.
Dancing
Psalm 149:3 Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.
Bowing
Psalm 5:7 in reverence will I bow down
Banners
Psalm 20:5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift our banners in the name of our God.
The key question of worship is, Where is your heart? Matthew 15:8 says, These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
