Every Day is Christmas

Next Food Distribution Date

Our next feeding day is Sunday, February 26th. Meet at 12:30pm after church downstairs in the Pillar's room for prayer and instructions. Transportation is provided for those who need it (to and from the church).

Can't go? You can still bless the homeless by baking cookies, bars, cakes and bring them individually wrapped for the workers to hand out to each person. Just bring your baked good to church on Sunday morning and drop them off at the information desk.

Our beginnings...

On December 25th, 2010, Pastor Derek asked my family and I

to go downtown Seattle with his family to feed

and pray for the homeless.

Pastor Derek's vision was to focus on what Christ has done

for us instead of what are WE expect to get at this time of year.

So my family made up 30 sack lunches and we joined the Forseth's

and about 15 other people from PC, who also made food, and

went down to Pioneer Square. When we got there we were

surprised to see the large amount of homeless people. It was so overwhelming that some of us started to cry. We ran out of

food quickly so we went to Subway and got 20 sandwiches

and it still wasn't enough.

The most surprising thing about the experience was the

openness of people for evangelism. They were hungry for

food and for someone to care enough to talk

with them and pray with them.

That's when God spoke to me and said something

needs to be done on a consistent basis. As a chef in the past

I seized the opportunity to use my skills and to give

the church body the opportunity to help. Because it is

not about the food, it is about sharing the love of

Christ and what He has done in our lives.

So the ministry of "Every Day is Christmas" began.

Once a month, a team of volunteers goes to

Pioneer Square to feed and pray with the homeless.

Those who can't physically go make bars, cookies, breads, etc.

The reason for the name is simple.

Even though we started this idea on Christmas Day,

we wanted to share the love of Christ - every day.

Hence, "Every Day is Christ-Mas".

Check the church bulletin for the next date we are serving.

Sign up sheets will be at the information desk.
