Generations United

Who > Barry Eggehorn & Co. (Generations United)
What > 11 brand new songs and one Santana–esk remake of "Dance of Praise."
How > Ben Eggehorn Recording Services (Monrovia, CA), Mower Studio (Pasadena, CA), M–Audio, Waves LTD, Yamaha Motif 6 & more.
Why > Says Pastor Barry, "'Coming Again' is a collection of songs that came out of my devotional life." The return of Christ, adoration and devotion are at the heart of this album. Barry really didn't have any cash for this project so he began to pray and God began to open some amazing doors. The rest is history. Barry (and wife Karie), his cousins Kris, Ben, Adam, Jonathan and a few others really put their heart into this project to make it happen. Because of Barry's recent opportunities at national and international conferences he decided to keep the style of this project a bit "less progressive" and a bit more "adult contemporary."

Download > "It's Time" (MP3, 2.5MB). Following are the lyrics.

It's Time

Seasons come, season go
But by God remains the same
Feelings come, feelings go
But the call remains the same
People come, people go
But God's love remains the same

This is the time, this is the place
The favor of the Lord is here
This is His love, this is His grace
The Spirit has anointed me

It's time to weep, it's time to love
It's time to pray like crazy
It's time to speak, it's time to serve
It's time to reap the harvest
It's time to dance, it's time to shout
'Cause the King is coming soon

Who > Byron A. Eggehorn.
What > 15+ songs exploring the modern musical genre laced with poetry from the heart.
How > Recorded and edited with a now old-school Mac PowerBook G4 running ProTools LE 6.4 thru an MBox 1, and a Power Mac G4 running the same thru the Digi 001. Røde, AKG, Sennheiser, Milab, and Shure mics. Programming was done exclusively on Reason 2.5 Mixed on Power Mac G5 using Cubase, and mastered in one of northern Europe's most prestigous mastering facilities - the Cutting Room.
Why > The time was right in 2004/2005 for Byron to track the talent that has been deposited in him by his Creator. So Byron gave it up in love songs; songs that could be sung between true lovers, songs that the church could sing to the Almighty, and songs that could potentially be from the heart of God to His children. Given that Byron plays a number of instruments, and the fact that there weren't too many available/capable players at the time and place of recording, Byron decided to approach this as a solo work of art. He withdrew from typical outside influences at the time, and set to find what was in his heart to play out on tape. The result is not your average CD; different styles, different expressions, and a full 70+ minutes. Includes a few guest appearances.

Download > "outta my head" (MP3, 1.7MB). Following are the lyrics.

outta my head

I'm too scared to go thru with this
I've been hurt too many times before
I don't know if I can trust again
I don't think I can love anymore
I'm right here don't look to the left
or to the right give me your fear that
holds you back and keeps you in the night
hold out your hand take hold of mine
don't look behind you wil find I am the life
I can't get that outta my head
I can't get you outta my head
I'm stuck on the words you said
ooh I can't get them outta my head
I'm too numb to go thru with this
I've been abused too many times before
I don't think I can extend my hand
I don't know if I'll try anymore

Idol - Anthony Grant Foundation

Anthony Grant Foundation

Who > Byron Anthony Eggehorn and Joseph Grant Kløven.
What > "Idol", their first CD, with another coming in 2004.
How > Digidesign MBox with Pro Tools LE 5.2, Propellerhead Reason 2.0, Fruity Loops 2, Apple iBook, Røde NT1 mics.
Why > Says Byron, "'Idol' turned out to be our main epic song during recording. Because it had a good message, and with the TV show and all, we thought it could work." Joe sculpted the self-portrait on the cover, reappropriated to portray the title. With the rap scene in Norway smaller and newer than in the States, Anthony Grant Foundation thought it opportune to insert their hip hop influenced music into the local culture, as well as providing lyrics with spiritual ramifications from a Christian perspective. It was also a musical style easy for them to dive-in to. Some of their musical influences range from Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock to Linkin Park and Dr. Dre.
Where > Email the church for info about purchasing the CD, and how to contact them.
Download > "How I Feel" (MP3, 6.6MB). Following are the lyrics.

How I Feel

I took the time to write a rhyme for you
Because I want y'all to know how I feel
So let me tell you 'bout my love so true
I did it all just to be with you

I saw you this morning. You got up out of bed. You
didn't want to be here anymore. You took two pills
for your head. "What in the world did I do last
night?" - you said to yourself for the 100th time as
you looked in the mirror. Yo, I was standing right
there. Too many times you have screwed up and
not forgiven yourself. The walls are getting higher
and higher. And you're tired of what you always do
and you can't accept that it all can be washed away
in my embrace.

My love pours down like rain. Its waves crash in
like the ocean. There's nothing you can do to
deserve it. Just stand under the rain.

I'll blast, shout, cry out so fast at the world about
you, my love. Dream passion, sweet cream is how
I feel about you, my love. My heart is open so wide,
wishin you was at my side, love. I'll blast, shout, cry
out so fast at the world about you, my love.

Please don't just stand there thinking that this
song might be alright. Perhaps you dig the flow,
maybe even want to grab the mic - hear me out.
You got to take something in order to receive it. Not
only believe in it that you be needing it, you need to
feed on it. Allow my love to soak you, sweep over
and take you away. Lose yourself in me, sink
deeper in my sea. If you stay, you will change. I will
heal the wounds that terrify your deepest inner
being that keeps you fleeing. And I will set you free.

Would you receive my love so true? Would you
receive my love for you?
